Nigerian champions Enyimba have been sent packing from the CAF Champions’ League following a 0-0 draw against Al-Ahly Benghazi of Libya in Aba on Sunday, 27 August, 2023
The Libyan club side went through on a 4-3 aggregate.
After a battling display in the first leg in Libya, Enyimba were tipped favourites to win the preliminary round second tie at their home soil.
Unfortunately, the two-time African champions were let down by their wastage in front of goal.
Finidi George’s side failed to find the one goal that would have confirmed their place in the second round.
The visitors put up a spirited defensive display to stop Enyimba from getting the much-needed goal.
Remo Stars, Nigeria’s other representatives in the competition, are up against Medeama SC of Ghana.
