The Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) has concluded plans to launch the Lagos Revenue Portal (LRP), aimed at managing bills’ payment by individuals and corporate bodies in the state reports thegazellenews.com.
According to the Special Adviser to the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Taxation and Revenue Generation, Abdul Kadir Opeyemi Ogungbo, the portal will provide a seamless means of managing all bill payments in the state.
Speaking at a media parley on the issue at the LIRS headquarters, Alausa on Thursday, 8 August, 2024, Ogungbo stated that the portal is expected to be launched by the state Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Thursday, 15 August, 2024 in Lagos.
According to Ogungbo, “this advanced technology will streamline our collection processes into a more-friendly and accessible self-service portal for everyone in the state”.
He explained further that the LRP will aggregate all the state bills and payments across Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), thereby making it a one-stop shop for all tax payers as the portal is expected to allow Lagosians manage and print their bills and make payments online through multiple available channels.
“The portal ensures secure and seamless payment processing, guaranteeing that transactions are both safe and efficient. This means that every payer receives instant revenue receipt after each successful payment. This also allows them to seamlessly validate their receipts to avoid paying into wrong hands,” he said.
Ogungbo explained further that, “the portal facilitates easy payer registration so that individuals and businesses can now register as payers and access their profiles online”.
