Few hours after Sokoto State Deputy Governor, Manir Muhammed Dan Musa resigned from being a member of the Peoples Democratic Party in the State, 11 commissioners in state have also dumped the ruling party in the state for All Progressive Congress (APC)
The latest development, thegazellenews.com gathered, followed an announcement by the state’s Deputy Governor, Dan Iya, to dump PDP for the national ruling party..
Reports of the defection of the commissioners hit the media a few hours before the presidential campaign rally of the ruling party is expected to take place.
The APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, and his running mate, Kashim Shettima, are expected in the state for the campaign rally on Thursday, 9 February, 2023.
The defectors are expected to be officially received into APC by President Muhammadu Buhari during the rally.
