Despite the fact that Kano State Government imposed dusk to dawn curfew to prevent the breakdown of law and order after the declaration of the winner of the state governorship election, some unidentified thugs have invaded and set the residence of a popular political singer, Dauda Kahutu Rarara on fire.
Rara was a singer for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) during campaign in the state, performing at various rallies while the electioneering lasted.
The thugs were said to have invaded the house and started destroying valuables before setting the house on fire.
It was gathered few minutes after the invasion of the thugs, police were said to have waded in by dispersing the hoodlums but the fire was still on while firefighters were yet to arrive at the scene.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had early Monday, 20 March, 2023, declared Abba Kabir Yusuf of the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) as the winner of the governorship election.
