President Muhammadu Buhari has signed into law the Appropriation Bill, 2023 totalling N21.83 trillion. Buhari signed the bill at the Council Chambers of the State House in Abuja. Fleeing gunmen on Monday, 2 January, 2023 attacked a convoy of a former Governor of Imo State, Ikedi Ohakim, and killed four of his police orderlies in the process.
