The Chairman of the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission(OGSIEC), Babatunde Osibodu, has said the Commission is not under any obligation to consult political parties or candidates before fixing an election date. The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) has refuted recent reports suggesting that minors arrested during the August 2024 “EndBadGovernance” protests were detained in adult custodial facilities in Abuja. A 58-year-old man named Bamidele Omolayo has committed suicide in Igburowo town, Odigbo Local Council Area of Ondo State, after consuming a chemical substance and pesticide, commonly known as snipper.
