By Abiodun Komolafe Jokes apart, I am a fan of Nyesom Wike, the current Governor of Rivers State. He is a visionary and a revolutionary. He is also bold and sincere! Like Rauf Aregbesola, the amiable former Governor of Osun State, Wike has capacity and a bias for action. He is also a listener’s delight! The governor is a role model for how to be a good leader, especially when matters involving politics in a terrain like ours come to the fore. A man with a big tent and a sterner stuff, Wike speaks truth to power without fearing any…
(Published in The PUNCH, on Monday, December 5, 2022) The pig – washed off mud, slaughtered, cut up and cooked – becomes pork. Spiced with condiments and spread over a barbecue fire, its cured belly and sides become bacon, ham is the meat from its upper hinds – salted, dried or smoked. If you dressed up the pig as smartly as George Orwell dressed up his failed revolutionary pigs in Animal Farm, or you left your pig to sun in the Maroko mud, it’s still a pig. I don’t do pig in any form. I’m a Christian, nevertheless. Lord, give…

The debate is a never-ending one. It has constantly pitted the members of the House against party leaders. It did not start today and will…

By Mohammed Adamu They say that he ran to Chatham House in London, to avoid the Arise Tv ‘debate’. And I was like: which is the more difficult of the two? Is it the Chatham in London or the ‘chatter’ at the Arise theater? It is like alleging that a mountaineer has gone to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania to avoid climbing Udi hills in Enugu. Abi? But if what you mean by an ‘escape’ is that Tinubu has ‘escaped’ the malevolent partisan mischief of conniving moderators at home to face the idyllic debate situation at Chatham, then you are…
