A fire outbreak has broken out at the NNPC mega filling station in Ogba, The Gazelle News.com reports. As from Friday, 1 May, 2020, wearing of facemasks in public becomes compulsory in Ogun State, The Gazelle News.com reports. According to the state Governor, Dapo Abiodun, anybody who defies this order faces a jail term of 14 days in any of the isolation centres in the state and made to perform community service. Governor Abiodun said this decision was taken as a measure to contain and curtail the spread of coronavirus in the state.

The Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has extended the quarantine orders being enforced in the state for another 30 days, the governor’s spokesperson, Muyiwa Adekeye, said in a statement. The Commissioner for Agriculture in Ekiti State, Folorunso Olabode has been kidnapped by gunmen. A councillor who was with him, was shot dead on the spot.
