Tonight some contacts on WhatsApp have forwarded to me a video of a Channels news broadcast of some 400 Boko Haram members arrested in Abia State by the army. More than 20 folks have forwarded this to me under two hours. This clip was grim and it is capable of driving fear into anyone. A Federal High Court in Abuja has cleared the way for Media Rights Agenda (MRA) and multiple award-winning investigative journalist, Ms Tobore Ovuorie, to file a N15 million claim against the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) and the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF) for alleged violation of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act, 2011 and their right of access to information. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has said that a total of 1,434,632 candidates have registered for the 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. The Chinese government has sent an official guide on treating coronavirus to the Nigerian authorities as death toll in the Chinese mainland reached 908 on Monday. The Oyo State Government, on Monday, 10 February, 2020, ordered the immediate suspension of 13 primary school Head Teachers, two Assistant Head Teachers and a classroom Teacher for extortion and various misconducts. The Government issued the directive through the Executive Chairman, Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Nureni Adeniran, following an inspection tour of some schools in Ibadan metropolis.
