Police personnel from the Lagos State Police Command this morning, Saturday, 12 June, 2021 disperse protesters at Ojota through tear gas.
The protesters stormed Ojota at about 9am with placards singing solidarity songs and going about their protests peacefully.
Initially, the police came in their vehicles providing security but suddenly they started firing tear gas at the protesters.
The protesters scampered for safety in different directions, the police even ran after some of them and eventually some protesters were arrested.
As at the time of writing this report, protesters in Ojota have been dispersed and free flow of traffic has returned.
The state Police Command stated on Friday, 11 June, 2021 that it is not aware of any protest taking place today warning protesters clear of Lagos roads.
