Tosin Adeyanju is many things to many people. A youth activist, a youth enthusiast, a youth mobiliser, a youthful entrepreneur. He’s visionary, he is revolutionary.
But for the past few years, he has become better known as a core, fiery supporter and promoter of Bola Ahmed Tinubu Presidential Project.
The 2023 presidential election has come and gone but one of its unforgettable memorable memories is the incredibly remarkable role played by Adeyanju.
He was in the inner caucus of the Tinubu Support Group (TSG) which four years ago pioneered the Tinubu Presidential Project under the leadership of Hon. James Abiodun Faleke. He was a driving force in TSG.
A graduate of Political science with a Master degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy at Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Adeyanju caught his activist teeth as a student. He was a former student union PRO in ABU and played active roles in the NANS movement back then.
A comrade of high repute, it was not surprising that he would be a leading voice for power shift to the south and a leading light in the mobilsation for the emergence of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu – first, at the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Primaries and then the Saturday, 25 February, 2023 Presidential Election.
Precisely, before the primary election, Adeyanju was the Head of TSG Media/Publicity and Head of the Group’s Secretariat.
The TSG platform was dutifully coordinated by its founder, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke to mobilize Nigerians towards Asiwaju’s candidacy and delegates for his election.
Upon securing the APC presidential ticket, TSG moved into the campaign mode for the general elections and not surprisingly, Adeyanju was appointed the Secretary of the strategic and critical Directorate for Support Groups Coordination (North Central) of the Presidential Campaign Council ( PCC).
The Directorate was celebrated for its astute mobilisation strategies which included: self-funded training; awareness sensitisation as well as mobilisation programmes.
But Adeyanju, as a senior aide of the PCC Secretary, Hon James Faleke, played far more reaching role at the PCC Secretariat.
Adeyanju joined other committed critical stakeholders to ensure an overwhelming victory for Asiwaju in the presidential election.
Upon the declaration and pronouncement of Asiwaju, some anti- Asiwaju agitators from the Obidients Movement and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) took over the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office and some other parts of Abuja in protest against the victory of then President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Without hesitation, Adeyanju took up the gauntlet to challenge these anti- democratic forces. He mobilized other Nigerians and members of the Support Groups to the INEC office in Abuja on a solidarity rally to pass a Vote of Confidence on the electoral body for a job well done in conducting the freest and fairest presidential election in the history of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Adeyanju’s Team raised the democratic stake in defending democracy and APC’s hard-earned electoral victory by displacing the so- called Obidients and PDP members from the famous Unity Fountain, Abuja which the opposition had used to call for cancellation of the election won by Asiwaju and also calling for an Interim Government.
Adeyanju mobilised his comrades and various political and cultural constituencies to begin a daily sit-out at the Unity Fountain, Abuja.
The daily sit-out not only promoted Nigeria’s unity in diversity, but also brought about religious harmony and tolerance and intellectual national discourses on renewed hope mandate.
With a creative mind, Adeyanju’s team soon turned a sit-out exercise to a festive and celebratory outings filled with funfares and humanitarian gestures.
The Unity Fountain show climaxed on Monday, 29 May, 2023 with a live celebration of the swearing-in of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
As he turned 45th recently, his birthday was celebrated with enthusiasm and endearing goodwill messages in the BAT World.
PCC leaders pay tributes to this remarkable, boisterous stakeholder:
Chief Bisi Idaomi Esq: “Congratulations and happy birthday to a great leader of the masses, compassionate, caring and accommodating, who is always advancing and advocating for a better Nigeria for everyone. You always fight for and support what you believe in. You believed in HE President Tinubu when only a handful supported him. Oga Faleke and yourself believed and worked hard for the actualisation of the BAT presidency. We wish you a glorious future. God bless you.”
Hon. *Ebitimi Amgbare: “Happy birthday to a great organiser and mobilizer of men and resources, wishing you many returns of this day.
Hon Ifeoma Nwankwo:
“We celebrate Tosin Kakaki, the General and Grand Commander of PBAT Youth and Support Groups Movement in Nigeria. You’re a pillar in the Renewed Hope mandate. We wish you God’s continuous blessings in good health and wealth.
Rt Hon. Matthew Omegara: “Happy birthday to you my beloved Tosin. May God bless you with sound health and longevity. I wish you Many Happy Returns and the sky is your Starting Point.
Mrs Favour Nkem Asogwa: “Happy birthday to bro Tosin. I wish you many more fruitful years ahead in good health in Jesus name. Amen.
Hon Dr. Kigbu: Happy birthday Tosin. The young shall grow! God be with you!
Hon. Raheem Adedoyin, Director of Adeyanju’s PCC Directorate, capped it all: ” Tosin is an incredibly talented person to work with. He is so forthright, a straight-shooter, full of creative ideas and endowned with energy and capacity to deliver on any assignments. He is the type that President Tinubu says he longs to see in his government. A good guy.”
Happy Birthday, Comrade Tosin Adeyanju.
