His members wanted it to be a surprise, and it ended up being one indeed. Dr Chris Okafor came to church on Sunday, April 28, 2024 to do his job of ministering to the needs of his congregation only for him to get more than he bargained for in terms of the pleasant surprises he got.
It was his birthday, and his faithful members decided to do something a bit different from the usual by putting resources together to buy him a new car. And it came in form of a brand new Range Rover SUV (2024 model).
He had finished his ministration before his excited members let the cat out of the bag to announce that they had just bought him a new car. He would then be taken outside and handed the keys by a group of leaders in the church known simply as the ‘Mighty Men.’
The founder and senior pastor of the Grace Nation Church International a.k.a Liberation City would return to the pulpit to thank, as well as unleash, a torrent of blessings upon the members for the thoughtfulness in gifting him such a beautiful and classy car described by most automobile buffs as a “machine.”
“Oh, what can I say?” a very grateful Okafor said.
“I thank you all for this special gift. I pray God to replenish the pockets of everyone who made this possible. I say this once again. None of you shall ever go down in life in the mighty name of Jesus.”
The celebration would also witness a number of side attractions, including performances by the children, women and the church’s Praise Team.
Earlier, Dr Okafor had been ushered into the huge auditorium by separate processions of the Nigerian Army and Police band which enlivened the audience with military razzmatazz, belting out elaborate doses of popular worship songs in drums, cymbals, trumpets and saxophones.
Different natural groups would not be left out of the gifts extravaganza as they gave their substance in cash or kind to appreciate God in the life of His servant, Dr Chris Okafor.
A special buffet had then followed as more thanks and praises were offered to God for His mercies in preserving the popular cleric fondly called the ‘Generational Prophet.’
It will be recalled that the preacher had gotten a similar car gift two years ago, also, during one of his birthdays.
