Twelve years ago, I wrote this about you, today my thoughts about you remained the same but strengthened as you remained consistent and truly yourself. Asiwaju, Akanbi, Olodo de, Omo Abibatu: A phenomenon, an enigma, a moment, a period and indeed a generation.
A measure of a time. To me also a mentor who is most often right. Even when wrong, you are justifiably right. To your generation, an Obafemi Awolowo reincarnate, to my generation a Mahatma Gandhi lookup and to the younger generation a combination of Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jnr. expectation.
To many you are yourself, a generational phenomenon. Now as President and C-I-C we cannot but be grateful to God as you continue to trade your God given moment and life for Nigeria’s shared wisdom, prosperity and desired unification”.
