First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON has joined other notable Nigerians to celebrate the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio who clocks age 61 today, Saturday, 9 December, 2023.
Speaking during the grand reception to mark the 61th birthday of the Senate President at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, Senator Oluremi Tinubu described Akpabio as an extraordinary democrat.
She said that the event was not only a birthday celebration but an occasion to reflect on Akpabio’s contributions to the growth of democracy and his developmental strides while as Governor.
“It is noteworthy that under his leadership, Akwa Ibom State witnessed remarkable infrastructural development, improved healthcare services, and enhanced educational opportunities. His administration’s focus on human capital development and poverty alleviation programs has transformed the lives of many, particularly the most vulnerable in our society.
“On this auspicious occasion of your 61st birthday, I extend my warmest congratulations and heartfelt wishes. Your leadership and dedication have been an inspiration to many, and as the Guest of Honour at this Grand Reception, I am honored to celebrate this milestone with you,” Senator Tinubu said.
The First Lady seized the opportunity to condole with the victims of the Kaduna drone attack. She appealed to Nigerians to help the community heal and assist in every way possible.
Earlier, various dignitaries at the event including the Deputy Senate President, Senator Jibrin Barau; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Honourable Tajudeen Abass; Governors of Akwa Ibom and Cross Rivers State, and APC National Chairman among others noted that the country is blessed with a man such as the celebrant, Senator Akpabio.
They said that the nation’s democratic terrain will continue to flourish with the likes of Senate President.
The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu coordinated the cutting of the birthday cake at the event which was a carnival like event also featured various gospel artistes and had the best of Akwa Ibom entertainment on display.
