The Onisabe of Igbobi-Sabe Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Oba Owolabi Adeyemi Adeniyi and his Olori, Queen Mosunmola Anike Adeniyi have sent messages of congratulations to the newly-crowned Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, His Royal Majesty Oba Clement Haastrup on his ascension to the throne of his forefathers, reports thegazellenews.com.
Both Oba and his wife also congratulated retired Deputy Inspector General of Police Taiwo Lakanu who was installed as Gbobaniyi of Ijesaland.
The Igbobi-Sabe monarch described the ascension of Oba Haastrup as a reflection of the will of the people of Ijesaland noting that the fact that the overwhelming support of the kingmakers which resulted in his winning majority of the votes was an indication that the people supported the new monarch.
“I pray that Almighty God gives you long life to rule, endow you with knowledge to direct the affairs of Ijesaland and make your reign a successful one that will bring progress and growth to the Ijesa people in particular and the whole of Osun State and Nigeria in general,” Oba Adeniyi and Queen Mosunmola said.
On the installation of retired DIG Lakanu as Gbobaniyi of Ijesaland, both the Igbobi-Sabe monarch and the Queen acknowledged the ingenuity of Oba Haastrup in making the choice describing Lakanu as a round peg in a round role.
“We are certain and convinced in the ability of DIG Lakanu to engender development and growth to Ijesaland,” they said.
