Former Minister of Communications, Major General (rtd) Tajudeen Olanrewaju, has sent his congratulatory message to former Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, on his being installed the Gbobaniyi of Ijebu Land
The honour was conferred on him by the Awujale of Ijebu Land, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona.
The Awujale conferred the title on El-Rufai, who is also a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), on Saturday, 16 December, 2023.
In his goodwill message, General Olanrewaju said: “It is a well-deserved title for a good friend, a highly qualified, educated, straightforward Nigerian political elite, who speaks truth to power at all critical times.
“This is a reflection of your efficient stewardship to the people of your state you served with strength, loyalty, confidence, commitment, and sense of duty.
“I congratulate you for this memorable installation as Gbobaniyi of Ijebu Land. This is the beginning of a cultural landmark achievement outside the state of your birth”.
Major General Tajudeen Olanrewaju, a former General Officer Commanding (GOC), Third Armoured Division of the Nigerian Army, is a long time friend of El-Rufai.
