An 85-year-old mannamed Ibrahim Usman, of Yar’adua quarters, Rimin Kebe, Ungogo local Government Area in Kano State has arrested by the operatives of the State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp(NSCDC) for allegedly abducting three year-old boy.
The Command’s spokesman, Ibrahim Abdullahi, who disclosed the arrest of the suspect in a statement issued on Saturday, 9 March, 2024, said the suspect abducted a 3-year-old boy in his neighbourhood.
According to him, the suspect attempted to hide him in his friend’s residence situated at Hotoro bye-pass in Kano State but upon suspecting foul play, the friend refused to keep the boy in his custody and decided to alert residents where the suspect lived at Rimin Kebe.
“This development led the suspect to run away and he was later picked up by personnel of the Corp’s Ungogo division.
“Worthy of note is that the suspect had in the last two months collected the victim’s father’s phone number but never called him for once,” Abdullahi said.
The state police image maker, however, revealed that the investigation into the case has reached an advanced stage and upon conclusion, the suspect will be charged to court.
