The Lawmaker representing Amuwo Odofin State Constituency 2 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Honourable Olawale Rauf Age-Sulaiman has stated that he escaped death by the whiskers on Thursday, 8 July, 2021 during the flag-off campaign for the reelection of the Oriade Local Council Development Area (LCDA) Chairman, Honourable Ramota Akinola-Hassan.
Speaking on the floor of the state Assembly on the issue as a ‘matter of urgent public importance’, Hon. Age-Sulaiman narrated how he escaped death from gunshot, adding that the incident occurred in Oriade Local Council Development Area (LCDA).
According to him, “I heard some people making noise while the campaign was on and I called for calm but I didn’t know that there were some elements who came with another intention.
“We were about to go out when somebody told me not to, two people stood beside me and right there I heard gunshot sounds, the next person beside me shouted my leg with blood-stains”.
That person who later died from the gun shot wounds was Kayode Samuel, chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and Vice Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).
