One inspector named Nura Ahmad is currently being detained by the kebbi State Police Command for allegedly killing one Ahmad Ibrahim.
It was gathered that police officer on Wednesday,12 June, 2026 killed the 20 year-old Ibrahim over a disagreement on money-related issues.
The State Public Relations officer, SP Nafiu Abubakar, confirmed the development through a statement issued on Thursday, 13 June, 2024
Abubakar, who disclosed that the suspect was an officer attached to CTU Base 18 Zamfara State, added that the suspect was on stop-and-search duty along Zamare/Yauri road when he had an altercation with the deceased.
“As a result, the said Police Inspector shot Ahmad Ibrahim in his chest and he was immediately rushed to General Hospital Yauri, for treatment, where a medical Doctor confirmed him dead.
“In view of the ugly incident, Inspector Nura Ahmad has been arrested and detained at the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Birnin Kebbi, for a discreet investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the confrontation and the unprofessional conduct of the Police Inspector”, the statement reads.
The command vowed that justice would be done in the investigation of the murder case, promising that the outcome would be made available to members of the public after the conclusion of the investigation.
