The Lagos State University (LASU) will honor the former Governor of Lagos State and immediate past Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN at its convocation ceremony on Thursday, 22 June, 2023, reports thegazellenews.com
Also to be honoured with a honorary Doctorate Degree by the institution is Fashola’s former Deputy and immediate past Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire.
While Fashola will be honoured with honorary Doctorate Degree in Humane Letters, Urban, Rural, Community and Youth Empowerment; Princess Orelope-Adefulire will bag honorary Doctorate Degree in Humane Letters, Grassroots Development.
A statement from the University listed other prominent Nigerians set for honour at the convocation ceremony.
One of them is the First Lady of Lagos State, Dr (Mrs) Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu who will be honoured with honorary Doctorate Degree in Humane Letters, Child Healthcare, Environmental Development and Women Development.
Also to be honoured are: the Chief of Staff to the President and Immediate past Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Femi Gbajabiamila who bags honorary Doctorate Degree in Law, Education, Community and National Development; and former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr John Olukayode Fayemi who will be honoured with honorary Doctor of Letters Degree in Human Rights, National Integration and African Security Development.
Others to be honoured are: the General Overseer and Founder of Mountain of Fire Ministries, Dr Daniel Kolawole Olukoya, who bags honorary Doctor of Science in Genetics and Biotechnology; and two traditional rulers in the state: the Elegushi of Ikate land, His Royal Majesty Saheed Ademola Elegushi who will be honoured with honorary Doctor of Arts in Broadcasting, Community Integration and Human Rights Advocate; and the Oniba Ekun of Iba Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Sulaiman Adeshina Raji Ashade who gets honorary Doctor of Letters Degree in Grassroots Development.
