The foremost and pioneer Institute of Islamic Finance Professionals (IIFP), is once again bringing together the largest gathering of stakeholders in the Islamic Finance industry in Nigeria through its 2022 Annual Islamic Finance Stakeholders Conference and Dinner/Award Night.
The conference which is third in the series is themed, ‘The Future of Islamic Fintech in Nigeria: Products, Policies and Sharia Compliance’ is slated to hold from 15th-16th December 2022 at Sheraton Hotels and Towers, Ikeja, Lagos.
The President of the institute, Prof. Tajudeen Yusuf, said the conference will involve 20 prominent speakers representing about 15 Islamic Finance institutions. Those expected to attend the conference include Islamic Finance policy makers, Islamic Finance professionals, MD/CEO of Islamic Financial Institutions (IFIs), Islamic scholars, all academics, leaders and managers of Islamic organizations.
The conference is opened to stakeholders for a participation fee of N25, 000 while the Dinner/Away ceremony will cost N35, 000 each.
Expectedly, the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Hon. Zainab Shamsuna Ahmad; the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy in Nigeria, Prof Isa Ali Patami and the Commissioner for Insurance/CEO Insurance Commission (NAICOM), Mr Thomas Olorundare are the three keynote speakers at the event.
According to the president of the institute, the conference will afford stakeholders ample opportunity to attend and reflect on the theme of the conference and proffer solutions to likely challenges.
“Fintech is a novel introduction to Islamic Financing and stakeholders are quite enthusiastic about it’s prospects and challenges. Hence, they would find the topics quite engaging and compelling for the future of Islamic Financing in Nigeria as the topics have been carefully selected to address the theme of the conference,” Prof. Yusuf enthused.
He added that the conference is not only for Muslims alone but non-Muslims who are avid enthutiasts of ethical finance.
The two-day event would, however, be rounded off the following day, 16th December 2022 with a Dinner/Award ceremony to celebrate individuals and corporate bodies who have contributed in deepening the growth of Islamic Finance in Nigeria.
According to Prof. Yusuf, the Award is in two categories. The first category is the Islamic Finance Impact Award in Banking, Capital Market and Takaful while the Islamic Finance Advocacy Award is for individuals and corporate bodies.
