The Chairman of the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB), Honourable Wahab Alawiye-King, has sent a thank you message to Lagosians for their overwhelming support for the candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the just concluded local government elections in the state.
Speaking with journalists on Sunday, 25 July, 2021, after the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) has declared APC winners of all the 20 local governments and 37 local council development areas chairmanship seats, Alawiye-King stated that Lagosians deserve commendation and praise for their continued support for the party.
“Although the turnout was lower than expected, we are still very much grateful to Lagosians because without their love and support, we would not have achieved this resounding victory.
“Thank you, Lagos, we remain ever grateful and I’m assuring you that our Chairmen and councillors won’t disappoint you,” the LASUBEB Chairman said.
The former Chairman of the Committee on Education, Science and Technology in the Lagos State House of Assembly also sent a message of congratulation to the party leaders, particularly the National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; the state Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu; the state Chairman of APC, Alhaji Ibrahim Babatunde Balogun; members of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) and all members of the party.
“We’ve developed a legacy of performance loved by Lagosians, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu laid the foundation for this performance and successive Governors particularly our own Babajide Sanwo-Olu have built on this foundation to the admiration of Lagosians.
“Our elders are there to provide the advice and words of wisdom, hence we give kudos to the GAC members while the party has been ably led by Alhaji Balogun,” Alawiye-King said.
He assured that the party will continue to put in place programmes and projects that will improve the well being of the people of the state.
