In a bid to accelerate developmental prowess in Okigwe North via educational empowerment, the Lawmaker representing Okigwe North Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. Princess Miriam Onuoha on Wednesday, 30 March, 2022 procured over 100 JAMB forms for free distribution to students seeking admission into tertiary institutions in the Constitution.
In addition to this, she also distributed N100, 000 each to the students as education support programme. This is in fulfilment of her electioneering campaign promise to students in the Constituency.
The event which took place inside the banquet hall of Vanessa Paris Hotel, opposite Market Square, Orlu Road Owerri in Imo State was filled to the brim as many dignitaries, students and their parents graced the laudable event.
According to the result oriented and proactive legislator, the beneficiaries were drawn as best graduating students from all mission and government secondary schools across Okigwe North Federal Constituency. She purchased JAMB forms for them and assisted successful candidates with admission into various higher institutions of their choice.
The event at OWERRI was the tuition support disbursement ceremony which also flags off the 2nd Phase of the same programme for 2022.
Hon. Princess Miriam Onuoha stated that the more educated elites are churned out in Okigwe North, the more developments will spring up in the zone, noting that education has remained one of the bedrock of any progressive society. She maintained that the programme came as a drive to adding values to the masses.
She pledged that her constituency will continue to benefit from the administration of the shared prosperity, adding that the students should see the gesture as a golden opportunity to revamping the society. She advised them to remain focused, that they should do all to come out in flying colours at the end of their studies.
