Nigerian singer, David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly called Davido has revealed that he bagged a multimillion-naira endorsement deal from telecommunication giants, MTN at the tender age of 17.
According to Davido, he had just two songs when the telecom company gave him an endorsement deal worth N20 million.
The ‘Omo Baba Olowo’ exponent, who made this disclosure in a recent interview, said: “I remember when MTN, a telecommunication company, came, and they were like, they want to do endorsement, but then he (dad) was like, how much, and I said N20 million. I was 17. Nobody has seen that kind of money.
“Wow, this is from Music, and it’s off like two songs, of course. I’m like, ‘Daddy, see, we can do this’.
“He looking at it, he built me a studio and gave me some money to run my stuff and did my first album, and it came out really successful.”
