Habeeb Uthman popularly known as Obama DMW in the music industry passed on earlier today, Tuesday, 29 June, 2021 at Ever Care Hospital in Admiralty Way, Lagos.
It was gathered that he had complained about having difficulty breathing before he passed on.
A close pal of music sensation, Davido, he was said to driven himself to the hospital in Lekki to complain of breathing difficulties.
He was admitted at the hospital and unfortunately died a few hours later. Obama DMW was also a music executive cum artistes manager and founded his music label Obama Music Worldwide (OMW).
Born in Lagos, Obama DMW spent some years in Canada but returned to launch a label called Holla At Your Boy, which folded up after the death of his partner.
He linked up with Davido afterwards and founded OMW.
In 2020, he signed upcoming singer, Ayanfe to his record label. Ayanfe found little buzz with the singles ‘Focus’ and ‘Ori Mi’.
Obama DMW is the second close associate of Davido, who has died in the last year. In December 2020, Davido’s bodyguard Tijani Olamilekan aka TeeJay died after a battle with an illness.
In October 2017, the famous singer lost three friends to death in one week.
