Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly addressed as Portable has reflected on his time in detention, saying he refused to wear prison uniform while in Ilaro Correctional Centre.
The Zazu crooner shared his experience in detention in his yet-to-be-released single titled ‘Federal Government Liability’.
In a snippet of the song shared on his Instagram page, Portable bragged that he didn’t wear a prison uniform while at the Correctional Centre in Ilaro.
On Monday, 3 April, 2023, a Magistrate Court ordered that Portable be remanded at the Correctional Centre in Ilaro pending the perfection of his bail conditions after he was granted N800,000 bail.
Celebrating his freedom in his latest song, the self-proclaimed ‘Wahala musician’ stated that he is a child of grace, adding that he can never be disgraced.
“I am a child of Grace. Latest glory. From star to the eagle, come and see grace wey no dey disgrace. They carried me to prison but I didn’t wear their cloth. Leave me alone. I am not a prisoner,” he sings.
Portable is facing a three-count charge bothering on assault and theft of musical equipment.
The hearing of the case will commence on April 26, 2023.
