The serene and quiet Ososa town in Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State came to live over the weekend when the children of the late Chief Imam of Ijebu Ososa, Alhaji Taoreed Idris Oluwakemi held Fidau prayer in his honour.
The two in one event also served as the final burial ceremony of the late Chief Imam and wife, Alhaja Subedat Oluwakemi held within the premises of the Moslem Primary School, Ososa, Ijebu Ode.
The event was a delighted reunion for members of the family, the League of Imams and well wishers from far and near who thronged the venue to pray for the repose of the late Chief Imam described as many as very humane, kind, generous, lively, and symbol for the unity of Ososa town and environs.
The late Chief Imam died at the ripe age of 83 after being instrumental to the fast growth of Arabic teaching and Islam in the very quiet town.
At the Fidau prayer, Sheikh Muyideen Ajani Bello in his sermon urged the children of the late Chief Imam to continue to offer prayers for him and remain united.
He said they should avoid any form of misunderstanding that could lead to faction among them but rather do all necessary to support those in need among family members.
According to him, “I want to appeal to you to continue to offer regular prayers for the late Chief Imam and also facilitate ventures like public facility that members of the community can benefit from in his memory. Anything of such will go a long way in abundant reward from Allah for him in the grave”.
The Islamic Scholar however frowned at the way some Muslims celebrate burial/fidau like wedding or naming ceremony saying that is not noble and acceptable before Allah.
Sheikh Ajani Bello noted that if people are aware of what’s going on in the grave with the dead, they will be very conscious of the activities they involved in while marking their exit.
There were lot to drink and eat with Islamic songs to entertain the Guest.
