The role of youths in cultural evolution and preservation of a nation, especially in challenging times like pandemics will be highlighted as the National Institute of Cultural Orientation (NICO) hosts this year’s edition of Children Cultural Extravaganza.
The theme of the event billed for the News Agency of Nigeria Events Centre, National Theatre Lagos on Thursday and Friday, 14th and 15th October 2021 is effects of the Pandemic in Cultural Lifestyle among the various ethnic groups.
Various stakeholders in education, information, culture, youth empowerment and development including Voice of Nigeria, the nation’s official external service broadcaster and international NGO, Ashoka: Everyone a Changemaker are joining hands to call attention to the significant role youths have to play in a nation’s development through cultural expression.
Tracing the background of the programme which commenced in 2010, the Zonal Director of NICO, Ohi Ojo explained that it was borne out of the desire to start enculturating of our youths from early stage and will feature competitions in Dance, Drama, Music, Cuisine, Talks, Quiz, Fashion and Styles.
