Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu is dead, reports thegazellenews.com.
News of Akeredolu’s death was confirmed on Wednesday morning, 27 December, 2023.
He died after long battle with Leukemia in a Lagos hospital where he was receiving medical attention.
He was aged 67.
Akeredolu was supposed to proceed on his second sojourn to the German hospital after his return to the country after spending three month medical leave in the Western European country.
He took another three month medical leave earlier this month after handing over to his Deputy, Lucky Ayedatiwa who has been acting until the announcement of his demise. However, he could not make it back to Germany because his health could not withstand rigours of long distance travelling again.
Akeredolu was running his second term in office as Governor of Ondo State. He was a former President of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA).
