The Sokoto State Government has set up a five-man Commission of Inquiry to probe all land allocations and government assets sold or auctioned during the administration of former Governor, Aminu Tambuwal.
The committee is led by Justice M.A. Pindiga (rtd), and Secretary Nasiru Muhammed Binji.
Other members of the committee are: Chief Jacob E. Ochidi, SAN; Usman Abubakar and Barrister Lema Sambo Wali.
The Press Secretary to Governor Ahmed Aliyu, in a statement, noted that the committee would also ascertain the government’s bank account and the amount realized from the sales and auctions of the assets.
“The committee will examine the various allocations of lands throughout the state, including government-owned houses sold or auctioned,” the statement said.
The committee has two months from the date of its first sitting to submit its report.
