The Kaduna State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kabir Nadabo, has disclosed that at least 13 people died in a road crash on Kaduna-Abuja expressway on Friday, 25 October, 2024.
Nadabo, who confirmed the incident in Kaduna through a statement made available to newsmen, said those who died had been moved to St Gerard’s Hospital, while three who survived were immediately conveyed to AP Smart Hospital, Kakuri, for further treatment.
The Sector Commander said it was imperative to also remind motorists that excessive speeding was dangerous, just as he also urged drivers to always maintain the requisite speed limits while on transit.
“The road traffic crash occurred near Olam Farm on Kaduna-Abuja Highway about 3 p.m. when a Toyota Hiace marked GTG 96YA carrying 11 persons collided with a Golf Salon marked RBC 369XE with five passengers.”
“As we enter the ‘ember season fully, motorists are reminded of the need to adhere to basic safety ethics while traveling,” he said.
“FRSC is committed to ensuring the roads are safe for all users.
“The Corps extends its sincere gratitude to the Kaduna State Government for the continuous support in FRSC activities,” Nadabo said.
