A suspected motorcycle snatcher has been burnt to death by an angry mob in Magama-Gumau town of Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
The incident was said to have occurred on Sunday, 17 March, 2024 when the young man, whose identity remains unknown, was seen loitering near a Mosque.
According to eyewitnesses, the unidentified man stole a motorcycle parked nearby, before he was spotted by the owner who raised an alarm.
It was gathered that despite abandoning the stolen motorcycle and attempting to flee, the suspected thief was caught by the angry mob.
He was subjected to severe beating with planks and other objects until he gave up the ghost .
By the time the police arrived, the mob had dispersed, leaving the thief dead at the scene.
His remains were later taken to Toro General Hospital morgue.
As at the time of filing this report, the Bauchi State Police Command has yet to comment on the development .
