A youth leader in Agbarho community, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, Chief Sylvester Eferhobo was axed to death on the night of Sunday, 9 April, 2023.
It was gathered that the deceased was called out of his house by his assailants only to be killed.
“Immediately he came out, his killers who were fully armed, shot at him several times, but the bullets could not penetrate him.
“The assailants dragged him to a nearby bush where they axed him to death,” a source said.
Chief Efethobo was a strong member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and his death was linked with cult-related issues.
He was recently conferred with a Chieftaincy title by HRM Ajuwe Samson Ogugu 1, the Osuivie of Agbarho Kingdom.
It was gathered that, most shops within and outside the Agbarho market has been shut down for fear of being attacked by hoodlums.
The State Police Command, as at the time of filing this report, are yet to comment on the matter
