Former Special Adviser on Housing in Lagos State, Honourable Jimoh Ajao is dead, reports thegazellenews.com.
Honourable Ajao, a foremost leader of the Awori people and Asiwaju Oba of Igando died on Saturday, 21 October, 2023 at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja. He was 66.
It was another devastating blow to the the Ajao family as the late Ajao lost his elder brother of the same parents barely two weeks ago.
Ajao was two time Special Adviser on Housing to Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN, between 2007 and 2015 when the senior lawyer was Governor of Lagos for two terms.
Prior to that, Ajao was the Executive Secretary and first elected Executive Chairman of Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area.
Very popular politician and a leading light of the Awori people, Ajao was elected into the Lagos State House of Assembly then on the platform of the defunct United Nigeria Congress Party (UNCP) but the death of Late General Sani Abacha truncated that transition programme and he was not able to take his seat officially in the state House of Assembly.
The late Ajao was a delegate at the last Special Convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) which produced Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the party’s Presidential Candidate.
