The untimely passage of our friend, brother, political associate and a distinguished member of progressive family, Chief Demola Seriki who was until his death, Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain, is painful and a big loss not only to his family members, but to Lagos State, Nigeria and humanity.
Chief Seriki made vital contributions that will remain indelible in our memory to the socio-economic development of Nigeria and our dear Lagos State in various capacities as a businessman, politician, administrator, minister, and diplomat while he was here with us.
The outpouring of tribute from all across Nigeria and even beyond the shores of the country is a testimony to the status of our late brother as patriot who related to all freely without regard to religious or ethnic affiliations and his patriotic contributions to nation building.
We will also always cherish his contributions to the successes of the progressive political family in Lagos and the nation at large.
We will miss his invaluable contributions and guidance as a member of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC).
On behalf of my family, I extend my sympathy to President Muhammadu Buhari, our governor in Lagos Babajide Sanwo-Olu, our political father,mentor and leader Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the entire progressive political family nationwide.
I also pray that God will grant our late brother’s family, friends, political associates, and the people of Lagos the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
I pray that God will grant him eternal rest.
