Operatives of the Special Tactical Squad have arrested 30-year-old woman identified as Hauwa Yusuf, for allegedly hiding one AK-47 rifle and four AK magazines inside a sack of garri.
The woman was arrested along the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway during a stop-and-search operation.
Force spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, made this disclosure while parading suspects at the STS headquarters in Abuja on Friday, 16 August, 2024.
“Yusuf confessed that a notorious bandit terrorising Katsina State, Aminu Basullube, sent her to take delivery of the arms in the Danum Madam Camp area of the state,” he said.
Adejobi said that on Wednesday, 14 August, 2024, acting on intelligence, operatives of STS intercepted one Hauwa Yusuf ‘F’ 30 years of Dutsin-Ma LGA of Katsina State, adding that the suspect was arrested while in transit from Lafia, Nasarawa State to Katsina State, inside a Sienna bus along the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway.

According to him, during interrogation, the suspect confessed that one Aminu Basullube, a notorious bandit terrorizing Katsina State general axis, sent her to take delivery of the arms in Danum Madam Camp, Katsina State.
