Tragedy occurred at Onigbegiri Junction, Eyenkorin in Asa Local Government Area of Kwara State during a heavy downpour as a tea seller (Mai shai) and one of his customers were killed by a thunder strike.
The State Police Command Spokesperson, Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed the sad development on Friday, 18 August, 2023.
“The body of the tea seller has been released to the family for burial while the family of the other victim said they need to perform some rites before they bury him,” Okansanmi said.
According to an eye witness, Mojeed Onigbegiri, the victims died instantly when the thunder struck around 6.30pm Thursday, 15 August, 2023.
