Two officials of the Fire Service in Edo State have reportedly been hospitalized following a building collapse that occurred while they were responding to an emergency.
It was gathered that the incident happened in the early hours of Friday, 10 January, 2025 at the Evbuotubu community in Benin City.
It was reported that the officials were in the community to extinguish a fire that had engulfed the building.
An eyewitness account stated that the building collapsed on the staff while they were putting out the fire.
At the time of filing this report, it had not been ascertained whether the staff members were from the Edo State Fire Service or the Federal Fire Service.
The Federal Fire Service in the state, as at the time of filing this report, has yet to comment on the incident.
