At least, 10 passengers lost their lives and eight others were injured as a mini-bus plunged into a ravine in Afghanistan’s northern Takhar province on Wednesday, 15 March, 2023.
Provincial Police Spokesman, Abdul Mubin Safi, who confirmed the development to newsmen without providing more details, said: “The deadly road accident took place in Anjir area of Chah Ab district at 8:00 a.m. local time today when a mini-bus plunged into ravine due to reckless driving of the driver,” Safi told reporters without providing more details.
In a previous accident, which happened in the central Daykundi province on Tuesday evening, two commuters were killed and 11 others were injured.
Dilapidated roads, lack of safety measures and reckless driving often claim lives of travelers in the mountainous and war-ravaged Afghanistan.
