The Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Honourable Sanai Agunbiade has urged residents of his constituency the need for them to make collection of their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) top priority.
Agunbiade gave the charge at the 8th Annual Constituency Stakeholders’ Meeting that held simultaneously in the 40 state constituencies in the state on Thursday, 30 June, 2022.
Speaking on the theme of the programme, which is 2023 General Elections: “The Imperative of Permanent Voters’ Card”, Agunbiade popularly called SOB by associates and friends, appealed to the people to go and get their PVCs so as to exercise their franchise in the coming elections.
While the lawmaker expressed worry over about reports of 20 million PVCs yet to be collected from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
He however, commended the constituents for their responsiveness to issues that concern the community.
Stakeholders from different walks of life who attended the event which took place at the Lagos State University of Science and Technology, Ikorodu, did not fail to commend the lawmaker for quality representation that he has been known for over the years.
Agunbiade lauded the good work of former Lagos State Governors from Alhaji Lateef Kayode Jakande, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Babatunde Fashola, Akinwunmi Ambode and the current governor Babajide Olushola Sanwoolu for job creation, employment opportunities empowerment, security of lives and property among others.
The representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) took time to enlightened the people on ways to go about collecting their PVCs and also for those that need fresh registration and transfer of PVCs due to change in location.
