The largest pastoral nomadic group in Nigeria better known as the Fulani or Fulata came together Friday, 30th December, 2022 at the iconic Lafia Square in Nasarawa State, to endorse Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shettima of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Presidential Elections of 2023.
The multitude of Fulani people representing vast rural communities and local government areas gathered under the auspices of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore Fulani Socio-cultural Association, where its National President, Alhaji (Dr) Abdullahi Bodejo stated that Fulani Nomads spread all across Nigeria, along with their families; have resolved to vote for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima of APC in the forthcoming 2023 Presidential Elections.
Bodejo also added that Fulani people by nature, do not believe in noise-making, but in quiet fortitude and iron clad determination.
Abdullahi Bodejo who hold the traditional title of Lamido Fulbe, assured Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima that in the Presidential elections of 2023; the unbending will and strong resolve of the Fulani race will reveal itself by granting its total votes to APC!
Additionally, Miyetti Allah Hautal Kore affirmed that cattle leaders i.e., ‘Ardos’ of various territorial communities; Fulani clerics, and Nomads in Nasarawa State have also unanimously endorsed Engr Abdullahi A. Sule as a second term Governor.
On his part, Engr Abdullahi A. Sule while expressing his gratitude, reminded the Fulani that Nasarawa was the state which piloted the National Livestock Transformation Program -NLTP- which represents Nigerias most comprehensive strategy conceived to modernize the livestock sector, curb the movement of cattle and resolve the herder-farmer conflict, which threatens Nigeria’s political stability and food security.
On his part, the APC VP Flag-bearer, Senator Kashim Shettima assured the Fulani that just like Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, they both share a burning desire for sustainable peace, security and harmonious coexistence between herders and farmers in Nigeria.
Shettima stated that it is in this regard that the Tinubu-Shettima manifesto of the APC has devised practical solutions to disagreements over the use of essential resources such as farmland, grazing areas and water between herders and local farmers, which is often the major source of the fighting.
The endorsement by Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore Fulani socio-cultural Association, of the twin APC tickets of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu with Kashim Shettima as President and Vice; and Engr Abdullahi A. Sule with Dr Emmanuel Akabe as Governor and Deputy in Nasarawa State, was witnessed by many stalwarts and bigwigs in the APC including the APC National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, Turakin Keffi.
