Earlier, the Church’s Senior Pastor Debo Adeoye fed the people with spiritual food. He urged them to do that, which is right before God, and shun the easy ways of the flesh.
He supported his sermon with the Bible passage, Luke 15: 11-24, where Jesus demonstrated heaven’s joy over the repentance of a sinner through the parable of the “Prodigal Son”
“For any sinner who comes back, the whole heaven rejoices over him or her. The parable is about a rich man who had two sons. Usually, inheritance is shared sequel to the demise of either or both parents. The prodigal son arose one day, approached his father, and requested for his portion the father’s inheritance. His wish was granted, but sadly, it was squandered, and he experienced hardship afterward. Going through his ordeal, he realized his costly mistake, returned to his father, and begged for forgiveness.
His return gladden his father’s heart, and a huge party was declared to celebrate his son’s return. Lesson: Christ is interested in the lost souls. According to Rev3:20, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me”.
Pastor Adeoye rounded off with the appeal, “Christ loves us and doesn’t want anyone to perish. Repent today!”
