The Anwar-ul-Islam College Agege Old Students Association Class of 1987 will this weekend host one of their classmates recently promoted in the Nigeria Police Force.
He is Ahmed Lateef, a former Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) now promoted to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) rank.
Lateef is among the ’87 Class of ACAOSA and he was the Assistant Head Boy and also the Editor of the school’s news journal at the time.
ACAOSA ’87 set President, Dr Yinka Ogundimu, a former Lagos House of Assembly member, told newsmen during the week that all arrangements have been concluded to accord Lateef a befitting hosting on Sunday, 9 June, 2024.
Ogundimu said: “We have been working round the clock on this because it is a thing of joy to have one of our own in such a high position. While we were in school and even now, Ahmed Lateef has always been a very active member and that informed this event.
“The EXCO of ACAOSA ’87 is staging this on behalf of all the members of our set just as we have plans on the cards to stage our second reunion later this year.”
Social Secretary of the ACAOSA Class of ‘87 EXCO, Mrs. Lateefat Adediran also told our correspondent that plans have been concluded to make Sunday, 9 June, 2024, a great day for DCP Lateef and the body.
“It will be a great day for us all. We are one big family and that is what we are trying to show on Sunday with this hosting of DCP Lateef,” Adediran said.
