The lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Honourable James Abiodun Faleke has again displayed his commitment to improving security in his constituency and the state in general, reports thegazellenews.com
On Monday, 23 September, 2024, the House Committee Chairman on Finance confirmed this when he presented operational vehicles to the police, Directorate of State Security (DSS), the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA).
Ten operational vehicles were presented to the aforementioned agencies to boost their work and operations.
Two of the vehicles were presented to the state police command, one each to: Area G and Area F area commands; Ikeja police station, DSS in Ikeja, FRSC, LASTMA, Ojodu and Alausa police stations.
Speaking at the event, Honourable Faleke stated there is need for all to support security agencies in ensuring safety of lives and properties across the state.
“We need to support security agencies to protect us. The job of providing safety is for all. We can assist security agencies in many ways. One of this ways is what we are doing here today.
“As citizens the onus lies on us to be vigilant and provide information for security agencies whenever we suspect any action or individuals.
“It’s also important for us not to give shelter to criminally minded people.
“We believe these vehicles will aid the operations of our various security agencies and assist both the FRSC and LASTMA in ensuring free flow of traffic in the state,” Faleke said.
On the state of the nation, Faleke urged more support and patience with the Tinubu administration noting that his economic policies have started to yield positive results.
“We are getting there gradually. Economic indices and reports have been positive in recent months but I beg our people for more patience and support. The Tinubu administration is committed to making life better for Nigerians,” Faleke, former Chairman of Conference 57, umbrella organisation of council chairmen in Lagos State, said.
