Arrangements have been concluded to organise a pre-season tournament for Lagos State based football teams competing NNL and NLO, reports thegazellenews.com.
This was one of the major decisions reached at the end of the meeting of the Technical Committee of the Lagos State Football Association (LSFA).
According to the Communique issued at the end of the meeting signed by its Chairman, Alhaji Liameed Olawale Gafar, the tournament which takes place between Monday, 18 September, and Friday, 22 September, 2023, is meant to prepare the team for the coming League season in the country.
The tournament will take place at the Mobolaji Bank-Anthony Stadium, Onikan.
Members of the Technical Committee also called on the state Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu to complete the ongoing works at the Agege stadium and other sports centres, noting that the new board of Lagos FA led by Alhaji Fouad Oki promised to activate many football programmes before this year’s run out.
The Technical Committee also resolved to start early preparation for 2023/24 Lagos State Challenge Cup.
According to the communique, the Lagos FA Cup would be played in various designated centres instead of concentrating on particular places.
The Committee Chairman however expressed profound gratitude to the Oki-led LSFA administration urging football stakeholders to cooperate with the new FA board.
He also assured that more clubs would be promoted to NNL and NLO in the next season and urged the club owners to take part in the forthcoming Lagos pre-season tournament.
