The Northern States’ Governors on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have insisted that the presidential candidate of the party must come from the southern part of the country, reports thegazellenews.com
The governors restated this, today, Monday, 6 June, 2022, after a meeting with the President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House, Aso Rock Villa, Abuja.
Thirteen of the Governors who attended the meeting stated that their decision to return power to the South is to ensure equity, peace, and unity of the country.
The decision of the Northern States’ Governors thus negated the earlier lie put forward by the National Chairman of the party, Senator Adamu Abdullahi that the President has endorsed the Senate President, Senator Ahmad Lawan as the party’s consensus candidate.
