A leading pan-Africanist, Ras Caleb Appiah-Levi and Founding President of PanAfrica-Ghana (PAG) has called on African Leaders to revive and ensure the implementation of the vision of Ghana’s first President, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
Ras Appiah-Levi, a renowned musician who has been championing the vision told thegazellenews.com in Accra that, he was at a meeting of African Leaders at the African Union Commission in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in April 2024 where he declared that the only way forward to addressing the many challenges facing the Continent is for the leaders to recognise that until Africans see themselves as one family, the problems of hunger and insecurity will persist.
“I challenged the leaders to explain why it is difficult for fellow Africans to travel or live in fellow African countries without any diplomatic bottleneck,” he said.
In his 38-page presentation, Ras Appiah-Levi called on Ghana President to ensure peaceful living of Africans especially West African citizens living in Ghana.
He said the issue of resident and work permits that had always limited West African citizens to express themselves. He said his office in Ghana is relating well with an African Media group to drum the vision to the leaders.
“I will be in Kampala, Uganda soon on the joint invitation of African Kin Education Resource Center (AKERC) of Kampala and Ugandan President, Comrade Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to partake in the 1st African Youth Congress 2024 slated for September 10 to 11. I believe we will achieve this vision sooner than expected”, he expressed.
He commended the recent activities of Nigeria President in rebranding the image of Nigeria across the World. He expressed confidence in the abilities of Nigeria and Nigerians in changing the narratives across Africa.
Ras Appiah-Levi who was one time the Chairman of the Greater-Accra Regional Branch of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) also said that the December 7, 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary elections in Ghana will also assist in the speedy implementation of the vision of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. “We at the PanAfrica-Ghana are prepared to support anyone who will enhance unity among Africa countries and her peoples. I want to thank the Presidents of Kenya and Uganda for promoting African Unity. I also believe that our media group will give us support”, he said
