A frontline Prince and serial entrepreneur from the Arimoro Lineage within Bilaro Oluodo Dynasty, Prince Kayode Micheal Adewale Arimoro, (KMA), has made a public declaration of his intention to emerge as the next Owa Obokun of Ijeshaland, riding the crest of his Lineage endorsement.
During the colorful declaration ceremony in Ilesha, in Osun State at the weekend , the Global Co-ordinator of Arimoro Family Lineage, Sir (Prince) Adegoke ‘Dire Arimoro, who presented the aspirant said ‘Prince Kayode Adewale Arimoro “is the candidate of Arimoro Lineage within Bilaro Oluodo Dynasty for the iconic stool of the Owa Obokun”.
According to him, Prince Kayode Micheal Adewale Arimoro, is eminently qualified by royal blood, tradition, accomplishment, and wide acceptability.
He cited the family’s rights and qualifications, history and tradition, relevant laws, justice, morality, and the quintessential profile of the family’s candidate as the bases for the aspirant’s claim to the throne.
At the declaration, various groups, including top Ijesha Elders, business men and women, the youth, artisans, students and some members of Ijesha in Diaspora unanimously endorsed the aspirant as the choice of the people.
Prince KMA Arimoro, who is the youngest among all the aspirants to the throne of Owa Obokun, promised to deploy his talent, entrepreneurship skills, global managerial expertise and youthful energy to drive transformational changes in the lives of all Ijeshas in Nigeria and diaspora.
He explained that he had contributed to the development of Ijesha land through establishments of businesses that employ several Ijesha indigenes, executed several empowerment and youth-oriented development initiatives and would continue to support overall growth and development of Ijeshaland.
“To fully unlock the potential in Ijeshaland, we need a leader who understands our challenges and the vision to create lasting solutions and make Ijesha a model for progress in Nigeria and beyond. My intention to contest for the highly esteemed throne of the Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesha land is with a vision rooted in tradition, driven by progress, and commitment to the sustainable growth and prosperity of all Ijesha people”, he assured.
He however tasked the Ijesha Kingmakers to follow the due process in the selection of the next Owa obokun, stating that the “Ifa Oracle must select who the next Owa is. That is how our forefathers did it. The Owa Ijesha is not for sale. May God grant the kingmakers the grace to stand firm and use Ifa and Ogun to select the new Owa Obokun. I believed the Osun State Governor, Chief Ademola Adeleke, would not allow himself to be manipulated in the selection of the new King for Ijesha land by insisting on the due process by the kingmakers”.
Prince KMA, listed six key pillars of his strategic vision for the Ijeshaland , which encapsulates technological advancement for sustainable growth, youth sports development and empowerment, strategic positioning of women for sustainable development,
standardization of gold mining practices, agriculture and animal husbandry and support for the retirees and senior Ijesha citizens.
