The Mobilisation Team of the BAO Campaign Organisation has been inaugurated with a charge to diligently mobilise voters at the grassroots for the victory of APC’s candidate, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, in the June 18, 2022 governorship election.
The Director-General, Cyril Fasuyi, while performing the inauguration in Ado-Ekiti, assured the team of adequate provisions to enable them do the job for victory at polls.
Also speaking at the occasion, former Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State, ChiefJide Awe, urged members of the BAO Campaign Organisation Moblisation team to work with the party structures in the local governments for effective mobilisation to ensure victory for Oyebanji.
He urged the team to identify knotty areas that may hamper campaign efforts for resolution and ensure that mutual understanding governs their conduct in carrying out their assignment.
Fasuyi said the team must see the assignment as a vehicle for the attainment of the party’s goal, assuring that necessary needs would be provided to do their job.
He explained that the conditions that necessitated APC’s loss in previous elections no longer existed, assuring that the party would leverage on the opportunity for victory.
“All we want to achieve is to operate under the law to ensure peaceful election. INEC has made it clear that it will conduct fair election. We will work within the law of the nation to win this election,” Fasuyi said.
He criticised the “hypocrisy” of the opposition candidate who in a video clip resorted to cursing the market women and leaders out of frustration over imminent loss, saying he was baffled that a man who paid delegates for his botched primary in PDP turned around to curse those who will do what he did.
Fasuyi, who responded to the issue raised by concerned members on fears over imposition of candidates, assured that fairness would govern choice of candidates in the national and state assembly elections.
He said the campaign organisation would consolidate on the mobilisation gains already achieved, stressing that efforts would be redoubled to achieve a resounding victory.
“We are meeting all the critical segments of the political class in Ekiti State beginning with the members of the National Assembly to ensure success because it is when we occupy the field that we can win this election to sustain our leadership of the state,” the DG explained.
