Bariga Local Council of Lagos State on Tuesday, 7 January, 2024 presented an appropriation bill of N11.2 billion to its legislators.
The Chairman of the council Kolade Alabi, described the bill as a ‘Budget of Consolidation’.
Alabi, who was represented by Zainot Kuponiyi, his Deputy, said the budget is a roadmap to a shared vision of progress and development for the people of Bariga.
He also explained that the bill solidifies the foundations of growth while preparing his administration towards providing sustainable and impactful development for the people.
“In recent years, we have faced a host of challenges—economic uncertainty, global instability, and pressures on public services,” the council boss said adding that his administration is determined to ensure that every naira spent delivers the much-needed impact to the people of Bariga.
“The decisions we make today will define the trajectory of our economy.
“We are going to prioritise programmes that deliver value, eliminate wasteful spending and invest in strategic areas by channelling resources into key sectors like healthcare, education, and infrastructure to ensure long-term growth,” Alabi said.
